Experimental investigation on the evolution of damage and seepage characteristics for red sandstone under thermal–mechanical coupling conditions

Rock masses in underground space usually experience the coupling of high-temperature field, stress field and seepage which gives them complex mechanical behavior permeability characteristics. To study properties characteristics red sandstone under different temperature environments, a test high triaxial compression is carried out based on RLW-2000 multi-field tester. The results show that plastic flow at peak same more obvious with increase confining pressure. In addition, as pressure gradient increases, decreases trend becomes slower. And higher operating temperature, easier to produce channels inside rock sample. development fissures rapidly developed effect so are widened increased, greatly increased. constitutive model statistical damage considering interaction osmotic was constructed experimental data combining theoretical methods reveal evolution induced by thermal rocks. research can be used reference for monitoring stability during geological engineering projects involving thermal–seepage–stress conditions.
